In a world filled with responsibilities and routines, it’s easy to overlook the simple joys that life offers. On my podcast episode #37, “Things That Made Me Smile Lately”, I share my journey of finding happiness in the little things, even amidst life’s challenges. I remind you to pause, appreciate, and smile.
Finding Joy in the Everyday: I reflect on my mom’s illness and the subsequent loss, and I highlight the importance of gratitude. I recount moments like witnessing a sunrise or the glistening snow, which brought unexpected smiles during tough time on my early morning drives to help her. These experiences teach us to seek out and cherish the beauty around us, no matter the circumstances.

Celebrating Life’s Little Moments: From family gatherings to spontaneous get-togethers, I emphasize the joy found in celebrating with loved ones. Whether it’s a birthday, an anniversary, or a simple weekend gathering, these moments create lasting memories and smiles. I encourage you to embrace these opportunities, regardless of life’s imperfections.

Nature’s Confetti: I love fall and its vibrant colors, which I am sure you do as well. I love the description of the season’s flowers as “nature’s confetti,” a burst of beauty that never fails to bring a smile. I share a story of decorating with pumpkins and flowers hoping to inspire you to find joy in the changing seasons and nature.

Exploring New Places: Traveling to new destinations, like my trip to Nashville, offers fresh perspectives and smiles. Whether it’s visiting a botanical garden or discovering a new coffee shop, these experiences enrich our lives and broaden our horizons. I want my adventures remind us to step out of our comfort zones and explore the world around us.
My hope is to live my life as a testament to the power of positivity and the impact of small joys. By focusing on the moments that make us smile, we can navigate life’s challenges with grace and gratitude. As my motto says, “Go live life lavishly,” and find your own reasons to smile every day.
